lyrics
A touch too violent
I lay bittersweet
Reaching upwards, outwards for death
To grasp what kills me
Etch it into shedding flesh
This is no place for comfort
This is no place for human life
I beg for death in absurdum
Torturing my fragile mind
Swallow glass
And I breathe my last silent breath
Swallow hope
Remember me through callous stone
Drowning in the sickest tears
Clouds strangle dreams, repress hope

Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end. sachavonkarl74

Jordan Vauvert
Crushing blackened doom from this German band that counterbalances blinding fury with moments of surprising, melancholy melody. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 8, 2023
Tokyo band contrast black metal's brutal complexity with shoegaze's abyssal grandeur, resulting in an LP that feels crushing, yet infinite. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 24, 2022
An outstanding slab of atmospheric black metal, “Sisyphus” cannily blends texture and terror for a gripping final product. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 7, 2021
